In lots of my blogs, I had discussed WordPress for creating specific blogs. But when users search for WordPress and get the desired results, sometimes they get a little bit of confusion regarding WordPress.com and WordPress.org. These are the two different terms defined by WordPress that I am going to explain in brief. So here is the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

WordPress.com:

It takes care of all the hosting for us.

In WordPress.com, we don’t need to download the software, pay for the hosting, or manages a web server.

It is a simple platform for building your website.

It is free to get started with and, you don’t need any external hosting or domain name. All you have to do is go on to the site, sign up on that and, you will be able to start building your website or blog right away.

WordPress.org:

WordPress.org uses for hosting our blogs or websites.

In WordPress.org, there is WordPress software that we have to download and install on our web server.

It is an open-source website software. This software doesn’t cost anything by itself, but you need to have a hosting account called a webserver to use that often comes with a price tag.

WordPress.com is a free service for use.

It is host by WordPress itself.

It has a free domain, having a wordpress.com extension.

No maintenance in wordpress.com.

It has limited customization.

Capable of a single website.

WordPress.com is the best platform for new bloggers or online resumes.

It doesn’t allow plugins.

It has limited free storage.

WordPress.com doesn’t give access to backend code, database, or files.
